Coming up with new Asian-themed slot games must be a difficult task for game developers such as Play ‘N Go as there have already been a plethora to have hit the market over the years. Although they continue to remain extremely popular amongst players, some differentials need to appear to ensure the gameplay experience can be a little different and remain from becoming stale.
Players need not worry about the quality of Imperial Opera slot game as the Scandinavian developers have produced a great game that is different to others within the genre. We enjoyed our experience in the Imperial Opera whilst doing this game review and with everything that is involved, we are sure players will too! Those that are not sure can squash any doubts by testing out the Imperial Opera Free Play version!
Gameplay
Our Imperial Opera game review started by checking out the reels and symbols involved within the game. The slot game is played across five reels and three rows and has 20 fixed paylines available to form winning combinations across. Players can place bets as small as €0.20 per spin (€0.01 per line) and up to a maximum of €100 per spin (€5 per payline).
As is tradition with Play ‘N Go, bettors will be delighted to know that there is an ‘Autoplay’ option available for those that want to let the action unfold in front of their eyes without having to manually press the ‘Spin’ button on each turn.
Players need to form winning combinations of at least two symbols from the left of the grid to be in line for a win. There are a plethora of symbols available on the grid, with the five playing cards representing the lowest-paying icons and the Princess Wild which represents the highest payouts. Five of these on the reels will reward players with 500x their original bet.
Other symbols include picture cards – of which there are three; taking the total number of payable icons to nine.
Feature Bonuses
Whilst doing our Imperial Opera slot game review, we found there are four random bonus features that can be activated at any one time and these provide players with the chance of winning big rewards.
The first feature is the ‘Crescendo’ round, which randomly selects either one or two reels to turn the icons into stacks of Wilds. ‘Showcase’ is the next bonus feature and players will see that one symbol will be randomly chosen to be duplicated across an entire reel, thus becoming fully stacked. The third feature is the ‘Mega Symbols’ round and this makes any character symbol become a large 3×3 icon.
The last feature of this Imperial Opera slot game is the ‘Harmony’ bonus, which chooses either two or three of the reels (that are next to each other) and will transform them into reels that are all showing the same symbols. This feature also has the ability to activate a free spins round if it produces a 3×3 Scatter symbol – which only appears in this bonus. If triggered, 10 free spins will be awarded and reels two, three and four will show the same symbol. The aforementioned ‘Showcase’ round will also become active, therefore providing players with stacks of random icons on reels one and five as well. The free spins can be reactivated as well, should another 3×3 Scatter land.
RTP (return to player)
Imperial Opera slot game has a modest return to player (RTP) rate of 96.50%, which means players can expect to receive winnings when they spin the reels a number of times.
